Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how EMRSVE LLC ("EMRSVE," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the Raha Kids mobile application and the Raha Kids website (together, the "Services"). We built Raha Kids for young children, and we have written this policy with that responsibility in mind. If anything here is unclear, please contact us using the details at the end of this page.

Who We Are

EMRSVE LLC is based at Qatar Science & Technology Park, Doha, Qatar. We are the developer and operator of Raha Kids, a bilingual (English and Arabic) gamified breathing app designed for children ages 4 to 10, including sensory-sensitive and autistic children, and of the Raha Kids marketing website.

Our Commitment to Children's Privacy

Raha Kids is made for young children to use together with, or under the supervision of, a parent, guardian, or caregiver. We do not require children to create an account to use the app, and the app does not ask a child to type in their name, email address, phone number, location, or any other personal information. The app has no in-app chat, no social features, no user-generated content shared with others, and no advertising.

Any communication with us directly, such as subscribing to our newsletter or sending a message through our contact form, is intended for a parent or guardian to do through our website, not for a child to do through the app.

If we ever become aware that we have collected personal information directly from a child without the consent required by applicable law, we will delete that information promptly. A parent or guardian who believes their child has provided us with personal information can contact us at any time using the details below to have it reviewed or removed.

Information We Collect

Through the Raha Kids App

The Raha Kids app is designed to work without collecting personal information. Specifically:

  • No account or sign-in. The app does not require creating an account or signing in, and does not collect a name, email address, or other identifying information.
  • Game settings and progress. The app saves your preferences and progress locally on your own device, using standard app storage. This information stays on your device; it is not sent to us or to any third party. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in your device settings, permanently deletes it.
  • Microphone. Some breathing games (for example, blowing out a candle or filling a bubble) use your device's microphone to detect the sound of blowing or breathing, in real time, so the game can respond. This is processed entirely on your device. We do not record, store, transmit, or listen to this audio, and it is never sent to us, saved, or shared with anyone. You can disable microphone access at any time in your device's app permission settings, though doing so will prevent breath-detecting games from working.
  • Vibration and haptic feedback. The app uses your device's vibration motor for gentle feedback during games. This does not involve any data collection.
  • Internet access. The app uses an internet connection to load app content and check for updates. The current version of the app does not include advertising or third-party analytics software. If we introduce optional paid subscriptions in a future update, purchases will be handled directly by the Apple App Store or Google Play, and we will not collect or store your payment card details ourselves.

We are not currently aware of the app collecting any personal information from its users. If this changes in a future update, we will update this policy before that update is released.

Through the Raha Kids Website

When you visit our website, we may collect the following:

  • Newsletter sign-up. If you choose to subscribe to our newsletter, we collect the email address you provide, to send you occasional updates about Raha Kids. You can unsubscribe at any time by contacting us.
  • Contact form. If you send us a message, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide, so that we can respond to you.
  • Visitor counter. Our website footer shows an approximate count of visitors. This count is generated using a third-party counting service, which receives your device's IP address in order to register the visit. We do not receive or store your individual IP address ourselves, and this counter is not used to track or identify individual visitors.
  • Website preferences. The site remembers simple preferences, such as your chosen language (English or Arabic) and light or dark display mode, using your browser's local storage. This information stays in your browser and is not sent to us.
  • Fonts. Our website loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. Loading a font from Google's servers shares your device's IP address with Google. See Google's own privacy policy for how Google handles this information.

We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking, and our website does not include third-party advertisements.

How We Use Information

We use the limited information described above to:

  • respond to messages sent through our contact form;
  • send newsletter updates to subscribers who asked for them;
  • display an approximate, aggregate visitor count on our website;
  • remember basic display preferences (language, light or dark mode) on our website; and
  • keep the Services secure and working correctly.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

Third-Party Services

We rely on a small number of outside services to operate our website, including Google Fonts (to load our typefaces) and a third-party visitor-counter service (to show an approximate visit count in our footer). These providers may process limited technical information, such as an IP address, as part of providing their service to us. We do not control their privacy practices directly, and we encourage you to review their own privacy policies if you have questions.

If we introduce paid subscriptions through the app in the future, purchases will be processed by Apple or Google, under their own respective privacy policies.

Children Under 13 and Google Play Families

Raha Kids is intended for a young audience and is designed with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play's Families Policy in mind. As described above, we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through the app. Parents and guardians can reach us at any time with questions or requests regarding their child's information, using the contact details below.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable data protection law, such as Qatar's Personal Data Privacy Protection Law (Law No. 13 of 2016), the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation, or similar laws elsewhere. These can include the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct inaccurate information;
  • request deletion of your information;
  • object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing; and
  • withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent (such as our newsletter).

You can exercise any of these rights, or unsubscribe from our newsletter, by contacting us using the details below, or by visiting our Account & Data Deletion page.

Data Retention

We keep newsletter and contact-form information for as long as needed to respond to you or to keep sending the newsletter, and we delete it when you ask us to or when it is no longer needed for these purposes. Information saved locally on your device by the app stays there until you delete it, uninstall the app, or clear the app's storage.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, but no method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Data Transfers

EMRSVE LLC is based in Qatar. Some of the third-party services described above may process information on servers located outside Qatar, including in the United States or the European Union. By using our Services, you understand that information may be processed in these locations.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example as our Services change or as required by law. We will post the updated policy on this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this page occasionally.
